Sections of the 2026 Yearbook are now taking shape.

The collage to the right shows a couple of pages from the checklist, which has now been reordered to follow AviList ‘25.

Who’d have thought it, despite having a price on its head, the Ruddy Duck has made it to number one. Auks now sit between the Skuas, or, should I say Jaegers (maybe I should, but I won’t), and the Terns and Gulls. Hmmm.

Between now and going to press, this checklist will be fleshed out with population data.

The pages from the checklist are overlaid on one of a series of Redpoll paintings that have been commissioned for the 2026 edition.

Further still into the background, you might just be able to make out the first spread of the Isle of Man entry, which, for the first time in ‘26, will include reserves.
